Meat and Food Inspectors Certificate, Liverpool University School of Hygiene, May, 1924. Building Trades Certificate 3rd year, Union of Lancashire and Cheshire Institute, May, 1921.
Mr. Hughes. Certificate of Institute of Plumbers, 1918. Certificate of Worshipful Company of Plumbers, 1921, Member of Royal Sanitary Institute, 1924. Associate Member of Institute of Sanitary Engineers, 1924.
Particulars of the salaries now payable 1a to Sanitary Inspectors in this country will be
found in the enclosed cuttings from the "Municipal Engineering" but it should be borne in mind that neither of these officers was employed as a Sanitary Inspector prior to his appointment. Mr. Charity was a plumber and informed us at the time of his engagement that his wages were 23.13.4d.,a week. Mr.Hughes who also served his time as a Plumber was for two years prior to his engagement employed as a Sanitary Engineer in India, and stated that his salary was £450. a year, plus expenses.
